Portland Parks & Rec to Host CPR First Aid AED Courses

Two courses are offered: for babysitters and adults

(PORTLAND, CT)- In an emergency, every second counts. Would you know what to do? Taught by a certified instructor, the Portland Parks and Recreation Department has two upcoming CPR / First Aid / AED courses.

On Thursday and Friday, August 24 - 25, we're offering a special course designed for babysitters. Participants will learn the skills to effectively assess and maintain a child's life in the critical minutes following an emergency until the arrival of emergency service personnel. The course also covers bee stings, diapering, and everything in between. This course also includes CPR and AED training for Adults, Children, and Infants. Participants will be CPR, First Aid and AED certified for 2 years by the American Heart Association.

On Saturday, September 9, we're holding a Heartsaver Certification course. This 3-hour program is ideal for adults whose job requires a first Aid, CPR & AED certification card.
