Portland Ranked 9th Best Place for Young Families in CT

Portland is the ninth best place for young families in Connecticut, according to a recent study by finance website NerdWallet,.

In putting together its rankings, NerdWallet says it considered home affordability, prosperity and growth, family friendliness and quality of education.

Here’s what the website wrote about Portland:

“Portland is the smallest city in the top 10, with a population of 5,628, but it has a distinctive and rich past. In the 1800s, it was one of the most important brownstone suppliers in the U.S., and the quarries alongside Portland’s downtown offer a unique glimpse into the town’s past.”
