Reported Explosions Explained In East Hampton: Police

Police said they received several reports of explosions on Wednesday morning.

EAST HAMPTON, CT — Police are advising residents that the explosions they may have heard on Wednesday morning were the controlled detonation of seized fireworks.

Police said they received several reports of explosions and found that the Connecticut State Police Bomb Squad had been detonating seized fireworks.

The detonations were expected to be completed by 12:30 p.m., according to police.
