EAST HAMPTON, CT — Police are advising residents of a road closure that will be in effect in East Hampton on Monday, Sept. 8, due to a drainage pipe issue.

Police said the Connecticut Department of Transportation is closing Middle Haddam Road (Route 151) between numbers 134 and 139.

“A drainage pipe under the road is severely compromised and must be replaced,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Due to the width of the road and the location of the pipe they cannot leave one lane open and still have equipment in the roadway. The state plans on placing Road Closed/Local Traffic Only signs at the intersection of Route 151 and Route 66 and Route 151 and Route 196.
