- The Connecticut Spring Antiques Show returns to Hartford this year just in time for its 40th Anniversary. The show, which is sponsored by and benefits the Haddam Historical Society, will be at the State Armory and runs from Friday, March 15, through Sunday, March 17. Admission is $15. The show features dozens of Connecticut antiques dealers, as well as numerous dealers from around New England and the Northeast.
- The John Gagnon Pet Resort in Colchester will hold a Pet Adoption Event on March 24th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Students in greater Hartford area schools entering grades 8, 9, or 10, are invited to apply to participate in the CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Summer Musical Theater Workshop. The workshop runs from Monday, June 24, through Friday, July 26, 2013. The program is free and is held at the CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, 15 Vernon St., in Hartford. Applications are due by Friday, March 22, by 4 p.m.

- Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, Boos & Books, located at 514 Colchester Road, in Colchester, will host a panel discussion on Celtic mythology and its influence on fiction on Saturday, March 16, from 1-3 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Authors Terri Bruce (the Afterlife series) and Helen Collins (MutaGenesis, NeuroGenesis) will discuss the origins of various myths and folklore creatures and compare the various treatments of them in fiction.
