- The Haddam Neck Congregational Church will host its 24th Annual Quilt Show on April 13 and 14 at the church on Quarry Hill Road. About 130 quilts and quilted items will be on display. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase. All quilters are welcome to exhibit their works. For more information you can email Nancy Smith.
- The Ladies Auxiliary for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5095 is selling 50 throw pillows memberes have made as a fundrasier for the Sandy Peszynski Cancer Fund. The pillows will sell for $6 each are available for purchase at Paul & Sandy’s Too on Route 66 in East Hampton.

- The Portland Public Library will host Sleepy Time Stories for families with children ages 2-8 tonight at 6:30. Wear your pajamas, bring your favorite stuffed friend and settle in for some cozy stories and crafts with Miss Judie.
- Manchester Community College will host a Career Exploration event on Saturday, April 13, in the Founders Hall cafeteria from 10 a.m. to noon. Guests speakers will include successful IT professionals who work in networking, security, database administration, mobile web development, programming, and desktop support.
