Wintry Weather May Start Earlier This Weekend
The East Hampton-Portland forecast called for freezing rain Saturday, Jan. 9, but it now may fall earlier than originally expected.

This weekend, we could see a touch of wintry weather but as of Wednesday, Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan said it’s not a sure bet.
“Here’s a First Alert: We’re worried about a bit of freezing drizzle Friday evening and night,” Hanrahan said on his Facebook page. “Yesterday, we had this in the forecast for Saturday morning but we’ve pushed up the timing a bit. Not a sure thing but something to watch.”
- The local National Weather Service forecast is calling for a sunny Friday, with a high near 43.
- On Friday night, there’s a slight chance of drizzle and temperatures will hover around 31 degrees.
- A slight chance of rain greets us on Saturday and potentially on Saturday evening. Temperatures during the day are predicted to be in the mid-40s and won’t get much lower at night — around 41 degrees.
- On Sunday, there’s a 70-percent chance of rain, with temperatures nearing 55-degrees during the day.
