Young Hawk Finally Leaves East Hampton Grocery Store

Falconers encouraged the hawk to leave East Hampton's Stop and Shop on Tuesday, Feb. 9.

Police from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection unsuccessfully tried to convince a young hawk to leave East Hampton’s Stop and Shop.

According to the Hartford Courant, the young, male Cooper’s Hawk spent his time approximately 30-feet up inside the East High Street store. Falconers were sent to the store twice and on Tuesday, successfully encouraged the hawk to exit the store.
