Albis Fights Back Against Push Poll Sent to All East Haven Voters

In advance of election, Albis says a push poll unfairly characterizes his voting record on a number of voting issues.

EAST HAVEN, CT - This past week, a “push poll” was sent out to voters in East Haven regarding Representative James Albis’ record in Hartford, in relation to his reelection campaign.

“This past week, I was alerted by my constituents that residents in East Haven have been receiving phone calls regarding my candidacy for reelection, attempting to mislead voters about my record,” Representative Albis stated on Monday. “Although the organization's financial reports seem to eschew the legal requirements for Connecticut elections laws, from what we can tell the calls are funded by a national Republican PAC funded by special interests that care far more about lining their own pockets than the well-being of East Haven residents.”

“I want to right the record on the disinformation being spread in these calls in two parts. Firstly, while these calls will cherry pick issues from years ago, what they conveniently won’t mention is how I have consistently introduced bills to lower taxes on middle class families, fought Dan Malloy’s efforts to tax things like tires, and pushed to end his administration’s giveaways of millions of dollars to major corporations. Not to mention the fact that I’ve helped to increase East Haven’s share of state aid by nearly $2 million since taking office, which has directly helped the town to keep property taxes stable for East Haven residents.”

"Secondly, regardless of political affiliation, it should be made clear that these dark money groups do not care about the residents of East Haven. They’re simply trying to spread misinformation. I have always been accessible as your representative, and I encourage anyone who has questions for me reaches out to me directly.”
