At the event, high school students from five area towns and their families got to meet and hear from current students, alumni like Sikorsky Aircraft's Doug Shidler and University of Connecticut President Susan Herbst, who said, "This has never been a better time to be a student at UConn. The progress that we have made in the last 20 years, and even in the last five, has transformed our university into one of the top public institutions of higher learning in the country."
