East Haven Firefighters Receive State-Of-Art New Equipment
East Haven has received hundreds of thousands of dollars of new firefighting equipment, paid almost entirely for by grants.

EAST HAVEN, CT - East Haven’s Fire Chief Matthew Marcarelli announced on social media Monday the department has received hundreds of thousands of dollars of new firefighting equipment, paid almost entirely for by grants.
The chief said:
“The East Haven Fire Department has taken delivery of 41 self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) 102 spare cylinders, 3 rapid intervention packs and 2 pak-tracker firefighter location devices as part of our Assistance to Firefighter Grant award for 2017.

“This included a new Breathing Air Compressor. This equipment exceeds the current standard and is state-of-the-art and will serve the department for years to come.
“All personnel are being trained on deployment of the new equipment and will be in-serve shortly. Total award for this grant was $328,800 costing the town only the 10% cost share. Thanks to everyone in town who supported this project including Mayor Joe Maturo and his staff, the Town Council, Board of Finance and the Honorable Board of Fire Commissioners.‘’
