East Haven Police Officer Honors Dallas Victims

Former teacher and EHPD officer traveled to Dallas to attend the slain officers' memorial.

East Haven, CT - For one East Haven Police officer, paying tribute to her fellow law enforcement officers slain in the Dallas, Texas, shootings was a priority.

According to The East Haven Register, Officer Nicole Burrell decided to honor those five Dallas police officers shot and killed in an early July attack.

Burrell, a three-year member of the EHPD, flew down to Dallas to attend the memorial services.

She told the Courier it was "'one of the saddest things and most beautiful things I’ve ever experienced.'”

Burrell, a former physical education teacher turned cop, said she was strengthened and empowered to pursue her law enforcement career after the trip, according to the Courier.
