East Haven Veterans Council Holds Ceremony on the Town Green

Veterans Day ceremonies will be held on Friday November 11 at the War Memorial.

EAST HAVEN, CT - The East Haven Veterans Council has announced that this year’s Veterans Day ceremonies will take place on Friday November 11th, at the War Memorial on the East Haven Town Green beginning at 11:00 a.m.

At 10:45 am, the Veterans and various Town and State officials will be leaving American Legion Post 89 on Thompson Avenue and will proceed down Main Street to the Town Green to render Honors. As he has volunteered for so many years in the past, East Haven resident, Durant McCurley, will be leading the procession on the bagpipes.

All veterans are invited to attend the service and take part in the walk to the Town Green. Of course, the public is encouraged to attend. Following the ceremony, all will be invited to the American Legion Post 89 Hall on Thompson Avenue for coffee and.

All Town offices will be closed on Friday November 11th in observance of Veterans’ Day. However the town’s trash and recycling pick-up will NOT be affected by the holiday and will be collected on regular collection days.
