East Haven Woman Injured While Climbing Mt. Washington

The woman was carried down from the mountain after she hurt her leg hiking.

Tuesday morning, an East Haven woman was carried about a mile down Mt. Washington after she hurt her leg hiking.

WTNH reports that an East Haven woman, whose name was not released, lost her footing while climbing Mt. Washington Tuesday morning and injured her leg. Other hikers went for help and Appalachian Mountain Club volunteers put her leg in a splint, but she was unable to walk, according to WTNH.

Instead, the volunteers carried the women for about a mile to the Mount Washington Auto Road, where she was taken to the summit for further assistance, according to WTNH. The woman lost her footing on the Crossover Trail near the Tuckerman Junction, according to the news site.
