EAST HAVEN, CT — East Haven politics were on full display Tuesday night as the Town Council voted strictly along party lines to sell 14 acres of property near the D.C. Moore Elementary School to a developer who wants to build 14 houses, according to a story in the New Haven Register.

The Republican controlled council all voted in favor of the idea; the minority Democrats all were opposed. The Republicans won, the Register reported.

The property was sold for $410,000 despite concerns the Democrats brought up that the building was potentially full of mold and it might be a future liability for the town if the development went wrong, the Register reported.
