Patch spoke to coach Craig Brown, who will be approaching his seventh year as a high school girl's volleyball coach and his third year as head varsity coach with EHHS, to find out more about the past season and what the future may bring to EHHS volleyball:
- Coach Jessica Moriarty will be returning as the Head JV coach for her second season with the program.
- The 2012 season was very successful. The team finished with an overall record of 13-8; 12-6 in the regular season; and with a 7-1 mark in the Oronoque Division clinching the Division title for the first time since 2009.
- This season's team looks to continue the program's upward trend by striving to improve the record, qualify for the state and conference tournament, and defend the division title.
- This season's team looks to be led by its senior class. Senior captains are: Mckenzie Miessau, Talia Loda, and Alyssa Apuzzo. All three players look to play key roles not only on the court but as leaders with what looks to be a very young team.
- There's a tough schedule ahead for the team this season. Branford will be a tough division game, Class LL state champion runner-up Cheshire, Class M runner up Woodland, among others are on the schedule for this season.
