Obituary: Maurizio P. Genovesi, 33, of East Haven

A hairdresser at Lis-A-Lis Salon in Guilford, father of a young son, and avid Baltimore Ravens fan, he enjoyed grilling, making Sunday sauce

Maurizio P. Genovesi, 33, passed away suddenly on March 22, 2024. The loving son of Cindy Genovesi and the late Maurizio Genovesi, he was born on December 30, 1990 in New Haven, CT. Maurizio worked as a Hairdresser at Lis-A-Lis Salon in Guilford. He leaves behind a son, Santino Aries Genovesi, who loved more than anything.

Maurizio is survived by his son Santino, who was the light of his life; his mother Cindy; and siblings Jordan, Bianca and Angelo Genovesi (Jen); a niece Jayla Johnson; grandparents William and Lee Shaw and Santino’s mother, Christine Nicole Casalaina. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Pietro and Lucia Genovesi; as well as his father, who he was named after, Maurizio Genovesi. He also leaves behind many cousins, aunts and uncles and countless amounts of friends that had the pleasure to cross his path.

Maurizio was an avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens. He was fond of cooking at home preparing sauce on any random Sunday or grilling with his family. Maurizio’s quick-witted, endless sense of humor, charm, and exuberance allowed him to light up any room he entered, as well as make just about anyone smile. His sense of fashion was always his way of expressing himself, and his natural level of skill in his craft of hairdressing made him someone to remember.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 4pm-7pm at East Haven Memorial Funeral Home, 425 Main Street, East Haven, CT 06512. A prayer service will be held at 6:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
