Obituary: Steven John Thompson, 40, of East Haven
A UConn graduate who succeeded in many endeavors, he worked in the retail field for companies including Rite Aid and Stop & Shop.
Steven John Thompson, 40, of East Haven, beloved father of Justin John and Natalie Grace Thompson passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at his home. Steven was born in New Haven on October 31, 1983 youngest son of Paul R. and Ann Marie Furtak Thompson, Sr. and younger brother to Paul R. Thompson, Jr. all of East Haven. Additionally, Steven left behind several adoring aunts, uncles, cousins and additional extended family.
A graduate of East Haven High School in 2002 and from UConn in 2006, Steve went on to work many years in the retail field for such companies as Rite Aid and Stop & Shop. He was an incredibly hard worker and succeeded in many endeavors, but his greatest achievements were undoubtedly his two children, Justin (11) and Natalie (8). They were his absolute pride and joy. He loved them unconditionally and would brag about them to anyone he could. He, along with the love of his life, Lisa Montone Thompson, grew a wonderful family together.

Family and friends are invited to a parlor service in the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven MONDAY at 12:00 P.M. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call MONDAY from 9:00 A.M. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Thompson Children’s Fund c/o Citizen’s Bank 430 Foxon Rd. East Haven, CT. 06512.
