Out With The Old, In With The New ...Gazebo On Town Green
The gazebo will be replaced as no matter how many times it's been patched up, its "structural integrity deteriorated beyond repair:" Mayor.

EAST HAVEN, CT —The town began removing the gazebo on the Town Green Monday, to make way for the new gazebo, East Haven Mayor Joseph A. Carfora said.
Decades of weathering and wear have rendered the historic gazebo structure beyond repair, necessitating its removal, the mayor said.
Once taken down, it will be temporarily replaced by a mobile stage that the town of North Haven
has "graciously allowed the town to use," Carfora said. The temporary structure will remain in place through the Town’s Fall Concert Series after which the East Haven Public Works will commence the construction of a new gazebo.

"No matter how much we patched the old gazebo, the structural integrity had deteriorated beyond a repairable state," Carfora said. "The arrival of our new gazebo marks a significant milestone in the ongoing revitalization of our beloved Town Green. I am thrilled by the prospect of seeing this beautiful addition take shape, and I am confident that it will serve as a source of pride and joy for generations to come."
Carfora said that the temporary mobile stage on loan from North Haven is an example of his and First Selectman Mike Freda's frequent collaboration on many issues.

"This is a wonderful example" of that relationship, Carfora said. "I am grateful for our ability to cooperate and support each other."
Funding for the new gazebo is made possible through the American Rescue Plan Act, the mayor noted, adding that the new gazebo on the historic Town Green will "serve as a focal point for community gatherings and events, symbolizing the conclusion of recent beautification efforts."
