Person Struck, Killed By Train In East Haven: Police
"We ask the public to avoid the area due to the high volume of emergency vehicles responding," police said.

EAST HAVEN, CT — A person was struck and killed by a passing train in East Haven, police said.
At 6:28 p.m. Saturday, Amtrak Police contacted the East Haven Public Safety Dispatch Center to report that a pedestrian had been struck and killed by a passing train in the area of Saltonstall Parkway and Forbes Place, police said. East Haven Police units are currently on scene assisting Amtrak Police.
"Although this incident does not directly impact East Haven roadways, we ask the public to avoid the area due to the high volume of emergency vehicles responding," said Police Capt. Joseph M. Murgo.

In an update Sunday, police said the train involved was Local Train CDOT 3655 owned by Shoreline East.
No other details have yet been released.
