Petry: "A Departure From Concepts Like Integrity."

This Letter to the Editor/Opinion Piece is written by Martin Petry:

Consider these questions:

• How does a Yale professor think it is a good idea to announce a political intention without honoring the laws of the land?
• Other candidates use their own money and money donated by donors for the contest to do bulk mailings.
• How does a potential candidate reconcile their public trust by acting with disregard to laws of the land?

This organization is an attempt to consolidate a quazi government agency which oversees and implements an insidious control of the education department, parents and students.  The unified thinking of all involved in the business of education removes any form of individuality regarding a child's education.

I don't know if Annabel is a parent.  My guess is probably not.  Any parent with more than one child can tell you how educating their children is a multifaceted undertaking when considering the needs of all their children.  Some children take to education with great ease, some need constant motivation.

The enlightened minds of this countries education administrations are failing all those they suppose to oversee. Graduation rates from K-12 are abysmal.  Drop out rates are skyrocketing. Juvenile courts are overwhelmed with new violators everyday. American students aren't even in the top ten global ratings of students.  Yet we pour more and more money into a sinking ship.

Who is to blame?  Teachers, parents, students????? None.  All.  Or maybe it is a departure from concepts like integrity. Maybe it comes from the greedy nature of bureaucracies?

The absurdity of witnessing a Yale professor disregard laws of the USPS, seeking political office while foisting an indoctrination towards Common Core thinking might just be the bulls-eye of why the education system in this country is a magnificent disaster.

When I was growing up there was no mistake as to the purpose of school.  It was to learn reading, writing, math, science and history.  Within these studies we came to understand the losses and rewards of study.  Study and get good grades, don't study and get poor grades or do it over. There was no such thing as correction policies of bullying, or even denying competition as a cause and effect aspect of learning.

One thing I do know is this:  Turning a blind eye to wrong actions of those seeking public trust with a "It's not a big deal" attitude is exactly what these
Professors have been selling for the past several decades.  What can be said about a Professor that has no regard for laws we all must live by?  Does she claim ignorance and remain a teacher of an institution like Yale?  Are you going to suggest that because her skill set is in literature she couldn't know that mail fraud and mail tampering aren't wrong?  Will you look the other way because she means well?

Hell is paved by the way of Good Intentions. 

She has no need to write books anymore. Were they well read? Those who can do, do, those that can't do teach, isn't that an adage of old reckoning? Those who can do, do, Those that can't do teach and teachers that can't cope become politicians.  Might that be a new adage?

We've contacted the news media of this concern.  We notified our candidate of the ethically challenged competition. I also notified Yale of it's employees lack of integrity.  The Postal Inspectors have also been notified.

If you don't stand for something in this world, you stand for nothing. The actions of this Yale professor are unacceptable and need rebuking. I am fed up with the elite of this world thinking they are above the law and possess all the answers to our communal problems. They have been at it since LBJ and there has never been any measure of success, just a deepening acceptance that more money is needed to solve the problems they perpetuate.

Departure from moral conduct of ethical integrity is what these politics are all about, and just remember you reap what ya sew.
