Maltese, in the past, has run for mayor as both a Democrat and a Republican.

Nine term incumbent Mayor Joseph Maturo, Jr. decided in July to not seek the GOP endorsement for a 10th term but he has yet to rule out a possible run as an Independent candidate.

Joe Carfora awaits the winner as the Democrat endorsed candidate.
