According to an arrest warrant affidavit filed in Superior Court in Middletown, On February 27, off-duty Old Saybrook police officer, Tyler Schulz allegedly shoved a man into a shuffleboard table at Scotch Plains Tavern in Essex and grabbed the neck of a second man who tried to intervene. State police investigated the case. Schultz has been charged with one count of second-degree breach of peace, which is a Class B misdemeanor. If he is convicted, Schultz faces up to six months in prison and a maximum fine of $1,000. According to the state court database, Schulz’s next court date is set for April 22. (Middletown Press)
  2. It's official, The Chester Fair will be holding its annual Wine & Beer Tasting on Saturday, June 18 at the Chester Fairgrounds. Let the summer celebrations begin! There will be wine and beer vendors, live entertainment and various local restaurants will be selling food. All proceeds from the event will go towards Chester Fair educational programming.   4. "Just swipe and delete," is the advice the Better Business Bureau of Connecticut is giving residents, due to an influx of scams using "friendly texts from unknown numbers." The BBB said these scammers potentially have the technology to steal phone contacts and continue to scam victims and their contacts also, so avoid even opening up the unknown text. (NBC Connecticut)
