Block Party At The Connecticut River Museum
In honor of Adriaen Block, the caption of the Onrust, the Connecticut River Museum is celebrating with a "Block" party this weekend.

ESSEX, CT — The Connecticut River Museum is holding a “Block” Party on Saturday, September 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m in honor of Adriaen Block. To celebrate, the museum will be serving up one of the Netherlands’ favorite treats, Stroopwafels (A stroopwafel is a wafer waffle made from two thin layers of baked dough joined by a caramel filling. First made in the Dutch city of Gouda, stroopwafels are popular throughout the Netherlands and the former Dutch Empire and are well-known Dutch dishes).
The celebration will also include; dockside tours of the Onrust and shipbuilding activities, like the favorite small-scale Ropewalk. All lawn activities will be free.
A special discount admission allows everyone to experience the museum for the kid’s price of $5.00.
