Celebrate With The Community At Deep River Family Day Sept. 18

With a whirlwind of activities for all ages, the 26th Annual Deep River Family Day event is being held on Saturday, September 18th.

DEEP RIVER, CT — Each year, for the past 26 years, the Deep River Merchants Association, together with the Deep River Parks and Recreation Department and the town of Deep River unite forces to create an unbelievable day of excitement and fun for the entire community call Deep River Family Day, which will be held this Saturday, September 18.

Kicking of the festivities with the annual 5K Run To The River, at 9 a.m. the town will be bustling and buzzing all day long with a bevy of excitement including wagon rides, raptor shows, men on stilts, live music, raffles and contests at various businesses throughout town, a Dunk The Selectman booth, the Deep River Rotary Tag Sale, pizza eating contests, the famed Pet Parade and more. This day of fun promises to have something to put a smile on everyone's face.

Trying out something new this year, instead of the traditional fireworks show to wrap up the evening, there will be a Drive-In Movie at 7:30 p.m. at Devitt Field. The snack shack will be open and the movie playing will be Jumanji. (space is limited, contact the Deep River Park and Recreation Department for more information).
