Here are the top three stories in Essex-Chester-Deep River today:

1. Deep River will be holding two Memorial Day Parades. Today, the parade in Winthrop will be held. The parade begins at 1 p.m. at the Winthrop Baptist Church. There will be a small service inside the church, then the parade will march downhill on Route 80 to the Winthrop Cemetery for another ceremony. On Monday, the parade begins at 10 a.m. at Devitt Field. The parade will march down Main Street, turn right onto Essex Street and turn right in to the Veterans Green where a Memorial Day ceremony will be held. All activities are weather permitting. 2. Here are the five most recent homes to hit the housing market in and around the Essex-Chester-Deep River area. Check this home in the Killingworth area for $120,000 and another in the Essex area with 3 beds and 4.5 baths for $4.3 million.(Patch)
