  1. Today is the longest day of the year and to celebrate this fantastic event, there will be a Solstice Ceremony with Vedaji and Mark Zarrillo at Hammonassett State Park Hammonasset Beach from 6-8 p.m. this evening. Mark Zarrrillo has offered drum circles since 2005 and Vedaji a Yogi born in India, who lived in a monastery in India since age 5 for over 20 years and now resides in Atlanta, will combine their unique energies to create a ceremony to honor the Summer Solstice. This event will take place behind Meigs Point Nature Center. Please bring a chair, yoga mat or blanket and your drums if you have them. In the case of rain, the ceremony will be held at The Red Barn in Durham. (Facebook)

The Essex Auto Club Annual Car Show will be held on July 4 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on the grounds of the Connecticut River Museum, overlooking the beautiful Connecticut River. The event is being put on by the Essex Auto Club and it will feature a broad range of cars, from contemporary to vintage classics. The show is being sponsored by; Essex Savings Bank, Tower Labs, Cardone & Daughter, J Alden Clothiers, Essex Detailing, and Motorcars International. Proceeds from the event will go to the Connecticut River Museum, as well as, other local non-profit organizations. The rain date is July 9th. See you there!
