CHESTER, CT — Since 1877, for many tri-town residents, the Chester Fair has marked the true ending of summer in this coastal Connecticut River community. Held annually on the last weekend in August (except in 1905, three years during World War II and in 2021 due to the pandemic) the fair is an iconic throwback to Chester's storied agricultural past.

With a tag line of, "A country fair for all ages," the Chester Fair is held on a 17-acre lot and meant to be a gathering of friends and family, community members and visitors alike, and this year particularly, it is a welcome event that many are looking forward to.

The gates will open for fun, excitement, tractor pulls, horse pulls, pony pulls, rides, food, pig races and more, on Friday, August 27th at 6 p.m. and Kim Price, First Vice President of the Chester Fair is overjoyed to be holding the historic, agricultural mainstay and community staple this year.

"We are thrilled we can have the fair this year," said Price with pure glee. "We are so happy! We got almost all our vendors back again and of course the pig races, the rides and everything. It's like a big party for family and friends and we hope everyone comes out, supports us and has a great time."

The fair will be held Friday, August 27th from 6 to 11 p.m., Saturday, August 28 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday, August 29th from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $10 (children 12 and under are free) senior citizens and military tickets are $8 with ID, and a three-day pass is $25. Parking is free.
