  1. Are you ready for the weekend and the Chester Fair? The fair kicks of on Friday, Aug. 25 and runs through Sunday, Aug. 27. There will be livestock shows, a bevy of childrens' activities, carnival rides, an assortment of food, live music, a beer tent, horse and pony pulls, and so much more.   2. Fall is a beautiful time here in Connecticut, but what will it be like this year after the crazy weather we have had this summer? Not to worry. According to the Middletown Press, "The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environment (DEEP) published a new report with the office of tourism that said the state is headed for a fall foliage season filled with "vibrant" colors."   3. Join the Essex Historical Society this weekend and explore Essex as history hits the streets for a walking tour of West Avenue and Prospect Street. These family-friendly walks cost $5 per person and are free to EHS members. The event begins at the Pratt House, 19 West Ave. at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26. (Patch)
