  1. Congratulations to Valley Regional High School for being selected by the CIAC as a 2022-2023 Michael’s Achievement Cup Award Winner as an exemplary Athletic Program. Great job student-athletes, coaches and the entire school community! (VRHS Athletics via Facebook)
  2. The Ninth Annual Chester Dog Fair is set to take place Sept. 16 and 17 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 11 Kirtland Terrace in Chester. There will be vendors, demonstrations, food trucks and craft beer and wine, a microchipping clinic, lure coursing, doggie Olympics, nail trimming, live music and more. This event is Homeward Bound CT’s biggest fundraiser. All proceeds from this event go to funding large adoption events and Spay it Forward initiatives. Admission is $5 per person and $10 per family.   3. On Sunday, Sept. 17, the first in the Collomore series of four concerts will be held at the Chester Meeting House featuring Lun Li, violin, and Albert Cano Smit, piano. According to Zip06.com, "The duo will play works by Strauss, Schumann, and Tchaikovsky. For information on the Robbie Collomore Concerts, visit collomoreconcerts.org. Tickets for the Sept. 17 concert can be purchased online or at the door, or by calling Managing Director Ann Drinan at 203-488-8403." (Zip06.com)
