  1. The name of the man whose body was recovered from the Old Lyme portion of the Connecticut River has been released. The body was that of 56-year-old David Hickie of Old Lyme. According to Fox61 Hartford, "The body was pulled out of the Connecticut River near Ferry Road around 7:30 p.m. Monday. Police do not believe there is a criminal aspect to this incident. This investigation is ongoing." (FOX61 Hartford)
  2. In an effort to help others, reportedly members of the Connecticut Task Force 1 are assisting officials in Vermont with water rescue missions after recent storms have left the state dealing with catastrophic flooding. According to NBC Connecticut, "As people evacuated Vermont, the Connecticut Task Force 1 eight-person team helped rescue five people and three pets outside of Vermont’s capital." (NBC Connecticut)
