Curbside Food Program In Chester

Chester Food Program will be providing curbside delivery to vehicles throughout the month of January.

CHESTER, CT — Chester Food Program Curbside Only for Month of January

In an abundance of caution, and to protect volunteers and guests, as well as stop the spread of COVID-19, the Chester Food Program will be providing curbside delivery to vehicles throughout the month of January. Curbside Delivery dates are Tuesday, January 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 4:00-6:00 in the parking lot of Chester Town Hall.

Patrons are invited to park in the spots closest to the front door and a volunteer will greet them at their car. Volunteers will deliver a core bag of nonperishable staples and present the guest with a Curbside Order Form. Guests will select items from the list of fresh foods available each week. Volunteers will return to the Town Hall, pack the requested perishable items, and deliver the second bag to the vehicle.
Each week, guests will be able to choose fresh vegetables, fruit, milk, butter, eggs, a loaf of bread and frozen meat. Guests of the Chester Food Program will leave with enough food to make 2-3 breakfasts, lunches, and dinners throughout the week. Dignity Grows bags will continue to be available upon request. Pick-up of diapers/wipes will be available the 2nd Tuesday of the month. The opportunity to shop for limited pantry items will NOT be available the month of January, but will return with even more choices as soon as it is safe to move back inside the Town Hall.
