Try out to be part of the original play, "These Few Lines: A Dramatization of The Civil War Correspondence of Willis and Nancy Ayers."
CHESTER, CT — Next week, the Chester Historical Society will be holding auditions for a staged reading of an original one-act play, “These Few Lines: A Dramatization of The Civil War Correspondence of Willis and Nancy Ayers.” Willis and Nancy were brother and sister, lifelong residents of Chester, and ancestors of the Miceli family.
Auditions will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 1 and Thursday, Sept. 2 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm and will be held at the Chester Museum at 9 West Main Street. The Society will be casting two actors, one man, mid-to-late 20s, to play the role of Willis, and one woman, early 20s, to play Nancy, his sister. Those auditioning will be asked to read from the script.
The production will take place at the Chester Meeting House and is scheduled for the weekend of Nov. 5-7 (following Covid guidelines). Rehearsals will begin in September.
