Here are the top three stories today in Essex-Chester-Deep River:

  1. Join outCT and Tri-Town Youth Services on August 22 for "Pride 2022, Coming Out For Art!" The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at 155 Tower Ave, Groton. It will highlight local queer art. There will be refreshments and great company. The event is free, according to a Facebook post. Hope to see you there! (Tri-Town Youth Services Bureau via Facebook)
  2. Save the date! The 2022 Chester Dog Fair will be held September 17 and 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chester Fair Grounds. Offering a plethora of dog-centered activities, vendors and information the event is a must-attend for dog lovers! There will also be live music, a beer and wine tent and food trucks! Tickets are $10 per family and $5 for individuals. All proceeds will go to benefit Homeward Bound CT, a non-profit, 501(C)3 organization. Hope to see you there!(Chester Dog Fair via Facebook)
  3. The results of Connecticut's are in. According to a Patch article by Rich Scinto, "Trump-endorsed Leora Levy won the Senate primary. Klarides received the party endorsement going into the election, but Trump endorsed Levy late last week and helped her in a telethon fundraiser Monday. Klarides said the results weren't what she hoped for, but congratulated Levy on her victory, according to WFSB. According to the Connecticut Secretary of State website, Levy ended up with 45,725 votes, Klarides, 36,275, and Peter Lumaj with 8,474 votes. Levy will face off against incumbent Sen. Richard Blumenthal in November. (Patch)
