Regional School District No. 4 Towns of Chester, Deep River and Essex will be holding a Special District Meeting Thursday, April 7, in regard to the sale of the Region 4 owned property commonly known as the "Falls Landing Property." Number three on the meeting's agenda is: "To approve the Purchase and Sale Agreement (Undeveloped Land) by and between
    Regional School District No. 4 and Jay Cruickshank and Lori Cruickshank (the β€œAgreement”)". (essexct.gov)
  2. A junior at Valley Regional High School, Lily Grow, has strengthened her love of basketball over the years, and become one of the premier players on the girls’ basketball team.   4. The Deep River Board of Education approved a proposed $5.6 million budget, which will now be brought before the Boards of Selectmen and the Boards of Finance, as well as the public. That meeting has not been scheduled yet. (Zip06.com)
  5. Today is opening day for the historic Chester-Hadlyme Ferry, which will operate this year through November 30. This is one of the state's two Connecticut River ferries. The other is the Rocky Hill-Glastonbury Ferry, which will remain closed this weekend, due to high water levels. (Torrington Register Citizen)
