  1. Flooding up north is causing the Connecticut River to swell locally. Reportedly, coastal areas of Cromwell, Middletown, Portland, Haddam and south are experiencing widespread damage from floating debris and high-water levels. According to the Middletown Press, "The National Weather Service is continuing its flood warning for areas of Connecticut and into Massachusetts until further notice." (Middletown Press)

Mark your calendars for July 23, for the Deep River Summer Marketplace event, which will take place at 245 Main St. from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. You are invited to celebrate local artisans by coming out to support their work. There will be live music and food vendors as well at this family and pet-friendly event. (Summer Market)
