- With the first day of school right around the corner, it's time to get school supplies. In an effort to help out, Tri-Town Youth Services in Deep River will be handing out school supplies on Sunday morning from 9 a.m. to noon (while supplies last). Be sure to stop by. - Friday morning's weather was one for the books. Massive downpours throughout New England flooded roads and, in some cases, stopped traffic. In the neighboring state of Rhode Island, reportedly, a tornado lifted a car. What will the remainder of summer be like? (CT Insider)

- Illegal fishing for trout in the state of Connecticut will earn you a hefty fine from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
