- The Essex Park and Recreation Department Running Rams program is starting soon with coach Peter Capezzone. The program provides instruction on track and field skills and techniques in a fun atmosphere teaching our next generation of athletes about the exciting sport of track and field. - The Essex Assessor’s Office is currently accepting applications for the State of Connecticut Circuit Breaker program until April 17 for mail-ins and May 15 for walk-ins. To qualify for this program a person must be totally disabled or age 65 by December 31, 2022. In the case of a married couple, only one spouse needs to be 65. The total household qualifying income, including any Social Security benefits, must be less than $49,100 for a married couple and less than $40,300 for a single person. The property that you are seeking assistance for must be your primary residence. Once qualified for the State Circuit Breaker Program, you are also eligible for the Town of Essex matching benefit.
