The Lobsters At The Chester Fairgrounds
Taking a new approach, the annual Chester Rotary Lobster Festival will be a hybrid event.

CHESTER, CT — Changing with the times, this year the annual Chester Rotary Lobster Festival will be held both as a take-out or eat-in event on Saturday, Sept. 11 at the Chester Fairgrounds.
Unlike many events that were canceled during 2020 due to the pandemic, die-hard Lobster Festival volunteers and supporters found a way to make the annual event happen last year by making it take-out only. This year, the event will be tweaked a bit, allowing supporters to pick up their pre-packaged meals (which will include either a 1 ½-pound lobster or 12-ounce New York strip steak, with sides of baked potato, corn on the cob, coleslaw, rolls, butter, and sour cream), and choose whether to eat at the fairgrounds or take their food to another destination to enjoy.
People are welcome to set up their own table and chairs at the fairgrounds and enjoy the live music of John Brown and the Back-Street Pickers and The Gary Torello Band from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. Meals will be ready for pick-up from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

(With Covid-19 safety standards in mind, supporters can choose from half-hour time slots to pick up their meals). Proceeds from the event will go to the Chester Rotary, which supports many local non-profits throughout the community.
Tickets are $45 and are available for purchase online.
