  2. The Deep River Historical Society elected a new president for the first time in 32 years! President Jeff Hostetler stepped down and thanked the membership for their support. Sue Wisner also stepped down as secretary. The new officers are not new to the board of trustees. New president Bruce Edgerton has served on the board for more than 20 years and new secretary Marian Staye has served on the board for eight years and served as house and grounds co-chair for 5 years.   3. The Connecticut Department of Agriculture Bureau of Regulatory Services is investigating Guida's Dairy in New Britain regarding 1 percent low-fat half-pint milk cartons that could be a health hazard. Milk cartons from Guida's reportedly contained diluted sanitizer. (Daily Voice)
