- A New England Clam Bake Party with Chef Dani will be held on July 29, at the Weekend Kitchen in Essex. The clam bake will feature lobsters, clams and corn and much more, and this special summer party will be held outside under the tent. Hope to see you there! (the-e-list.com)
- Chester Parks and Recreation Department movie night will be held on Friday, July 28 at 8 p.m. at the Chester Meeting House. The next movie will be "Luca." The movies in this series are funded by the Chester Leadership Fund. (Chester CT.com)
- Research done by the University of Connecticut has uncovered the fact that high levels of mercury are in largemouth bass in several freshwater lakes in the state. According to the CT Insider, "The highest concentration of mercury documented within the study was over 1.8 parts per million from a largemouth bass caught in the Mansfield Hollow Reservoir in 2020." Eleven other lakes have also been identified as having high levels of mercury in largemouth bass. For more information click here. (CT Insider)
