Netflix Holiday Movie Being Filmed In Downtown Essex This Weekend

Scenes that called for a, "New England Inn" will be shot for the Netflix movie The Noel Diary, this weekend at the Griswold Inn.

ESSEX, CT — Essex is already famous for being one of the "Best Small Towns In America", and, it's already been the choice backdrop for other holiday films such as the Hallmark movie, "Christmas at Pemberly Manor", and now it will also act as the setting for scenes in the new Netflix movie, "The Noel Diary".

The movie is being shot in many towns throughout the nutmeg state including Madison, Bridgeport, New Canaan, Manchester and of course Essex.

The historic Griswold Inn, with all of its charm, ambiance and style, is a natural choice when looking for an Inn that has grandeur, New England charm and picture-perfect movie quality decor.

The crew will also be filming scenes for the movie in nearby Madison, at the famed R.J. Julias Bookstore.

The Noel Diary will be an adaptation of Richard Paul Evan's New York Times best-selling novel, "The Noel Diary". The rights to the book have been obtained by Netflix, which has cast Justin Hartley ("This is Us") and Treat Williams ("Everwood") for leading roles in the film.
