New Assistant Superintendent Is Ready for New School Year

New Region 4 Assistant Superintendent Sarah Brzozowy is looking forward to August 26th.

ESSEX, CHESTER, DEEP RIVER, CT β€” With enthusiasm and verve for her new position, Region 4's Assistant Superintendent Sarah Brzozowy has been at her position for a little over a month now and says she can't wait for school to start.

Although her excitement may not be shared by students who wish the summer would last forever, Brzozowy, who officially started her position on July 1, 2021 is ready for the doors to the schools in Region 4 to be open.

"I'm looking forward to the opportunity to take my skill set to new a level in this position," said Brzozowy, who has an impressive resume, which includes over 15 years of experience in education, with seven years as a classroom teacher and two years as an Educational Consultant at the State Education Resource Center (SERC) improving system practices and working for equity for all students. For the past six years, she has served as the Chief Performance Officer / Data Analyst and School Improvement Specialist in East Hartford Public Schools.

Attracted to the position of Assistant Superintendent for Region 4 by Superintendent Brian White's entry plan, as well as, the district's work with social and emotional learning, Brzozowy said she felt the position would be a great fit for her because it called upon some of her greatest skill sets, such as collaborating with families and the community and working to ensure that Region 4 is supporting every single student in the best possible way, every day.

She disclosed that her absolute favorite thing to do is have lunch with kindergarteners.

"The little ones remind me how magical life can be," said Brzozowy. "I'm an educator and I love to be with kids!"

Excited to start the new school year with the Assistant Superintendent position filled, Superintendent White said, "I'm very pleased to have Dr. Sarah Brzozowy join the Chester, Deep River, Essex and Region 4 Public Schools as the new Assistant Superintendent of Schools. Dr. Brzozowy brings a wide range of professional experiences in education, as well as a depth of knowledge regarding best practices for schools. She will be meeting with stakeholders throughout the summer to learn more about the many strengths of our schools, as well as, areas of growth. I believe Dr. Brzozowy will be an excellent contributor to our leadership team and will be a great resource for staff and parents."
