  1. A warning was put out on Monday, July 17, alerting boaters in the area to be careful when "transiting the Connecticut River, mouth of the river and nearby portions of Long Island Sound." Due to excess flooding in the area over the weekend, there is a lot of different and dangerous types of debris floating in the water including "trees, vessels, and docks along with unreliable Navigation Aids and Regulatory Markers (Slow No Wake) throughout the area." Be careful and stay safe! (Boating In Connecticut via Facebook)
  2. Unfortunately, the Summer Marketplace event scheduled for July 23 in Deep River has been postponed until sometime in September. Keep a look out for the new date! (Summer Market)
  3. A new show is opening at Spectrum Art Gallery on July 21, it will run through Sept. 9. The show is called Imaginary Worlds. Check out new and exciting artwork by established and emerging artists and discover original paintings, mixed media, and photography in the gallery, and in the Artisans Store, original pottery, glass, fiber, home dΓ©cor, jewelry, and accessories. An Opening Reception will be held on Friday, July 21 with art, wine, and refreshments from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at 61 Main St., Centerbrook. Hope to see you there!
