The Numbers Are In For The Tri-Town Municipal Elections
The voters in the towns of Essex, Chester and Deep River showed up at the polls to exercise their right to vote.

ESSEX, CHESTER, DEEP RIVER, CT — The numbers are in and the voters in the towns of Essex, Chester and Deep River have cast their votes.
An estimated 1,665 voters voted in Essex.
An estimated 910 voters voted in Chester.

“Shall Regional School District No. 4, comprised of the Towns of Chester, Deep River and Essex, appropriate $952,053 for the cost of the John Winthrop Middle School Security Project and authorize the issuance of bonds, notes or temporary notes in an amount not to exceed $952,053 to finance the appropriation?”.
In Essex, 867 voted yes to the question and 331 voted no. In Chester, 446 voted yes and 279 voted no and in Deep River, 326 voted yes and 322 voted no.
In all three towns, the incumbent First Selectmen ran unopposed. In Essex, Democrat Norm Needleman received 1,294 votes. In Chester, Democrat Lauren Gister received 682 votes and in Deep River, Democrat Angus McDonald received 574 votes.
