According to a press release, the state Department of Transportation will hold a virtual public information meeting concerning the proposed installation of centerline rumble strips on sections of Westbrook Road and Plains Road on March 23, at 6 p.m. The meeting will also be streamed on Youtube Live. According to a study released earlier in the week by the Department of Revenue Services, Connecticut’s state and municipal tax systems target the poor and middle class, more than they did a decade ago. For example, people who earned less than $44,758 in 2019 lost nearly 26% of their earnings to taxes, nearly four times the rate paid by Connecticut’s wealthiest families, according to the study.
