Saying Goodbye To Chester's Long Time Clerk

Debra Calamari has been the mainstay as Chester's Town Clerk for the past 32 years and she has made the hard decision to retire.

CHESTER, CT — Help say goodbye to long-time Chester Town Clerk Deb Calamari, by stopping by the Chester Town Hall on Tuesday December 28th between 4 and 6 p.m.

"I'm looking forward to retirement," said Calamari with a big smile and a twinkle in her eye.

Calamari, who has served her town for the past 32 years, is headed into retirement and looking forward to spending the next chapter of her life sharing the open road with her husband riding on the back of their new Harley motorcycle. The couple plans on cruising into as many sunsets as they can together.

During the past few weeks, Calamari has taken her replacement, Kathryn Hair under her wing, teaching the ropes and the ins and outs of the position. Calamari has been coaching Hair with lots of positive support.

"You've got this," said Calamari to Hair as they looked up property deeds.

"I love helping people," said Hair, who is a Chester native. "I'm looking forward to the new position and the diversified tasks.

Stop by the town hall Tuesday afternoon to say goodbye to Calamari and hello to Hair.
