Screens, Teens And Depression
It's mental health month in Essex, Chester and Deep River and Tri-Town Youth Services is encouraging families to get off screens.
ESSEX, CHESTER, DEEP RIVER, CT — It's Mental Health Awareness Month and Tri-Town Youth Services wants to kick off the month promoting Screen-Free Week!
Phones and computers have helped all of us stay connected with friends and family over the last year, but children and teens need a break from their glowing rectangles. Tri-Town's youth surveys indicate that teens who spend 4+ hours of leisure time on their devices are also more likely to experience depression. Encourage some screen free days (or afternoons). Visit www.screenfree.org for inspiration.
