September is Library Card Sign Up Month!
Getting their own library card is a thrilling moment for kids. Take your child to the library during Library Card Sign Up Month.

ESSEX, CT — September is Library Card Sign Up Month!
The Essex Library is encouraging everyone over the age of 5 to get their own library card. Library cards are free and offer access to thousands of items including books, movies, digital materials, and our new Library of Things.
To register for an Essex Library Card, a parent or guardian must show proof of Essex residency. This may be in the form of a photo ID with your Essex address or a utility bill. More information on signing up for a library card can be found on our website. You can sign up for a card in-person during library hours. You can save time by filling out the attached form and bringing it with you on your visit. The Essex Library is currently fully open and masks are required for everyone over the age of 2.
As a special incentive, during the month of September, any child or teen who signs up for a library card will receive a free book!
We look forward to seeing you at the library and happy reading!
