  1. Disappointing news for fans of The Spot in Deep River. According to a recent Facebook post, the family-owned business will be closing up shop in July and headed down to the sunshine state of Florida for good. "Yes, we are relocating the shop and family to the beautiful state of Florida! Our last day of business will be July 16… we thought this was appropriate being that we opened our doors on Muster weekend two years ago and will be going full circle with closing on Muster weekend next month. We want to thank all of our loyal customers and supporters…. these last two years have been amazing!" (The Spot via Facebook)
  2. Looking to be food adventurous this summer? Here is a list of 15 new restaurants in the Nutmeg State that the CT Insider suggests you should try. Happy eating! (CT Insider)
  3. The Chester, Cedar Lake Concert Series, sponsored by the Chester Parks and Recreation Department will begin on July 9 with the Greenstamps. The concert will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. This is a free event, and all are welcome. (Town of Chester via Facebook)
